Nolte

Although referenced more than a hundred times in the combined novels, Nolte is never properly described. Several characters alternatingly flee to, from, and through Nolte, while others start or end Extreme quests there. Action that takes place there is described vaguely without giving hints as to where or what Nolte exactly is. In fact some accounts conflict. At times it would appear from context that it is probably a town, other times it would seem to be a state, a fortress, or an island.
