Highway 87
Continental Route (Highway) 87 is a famous segment of the Continental Route (highway) system. Popularized by the Extreme power ballad You Got Your Ass Kicked On Route 87 by the Cyberock supergroup Sleigher, most of the original alignment of Highway 87 has been abandoned in favor of a new six-lane divided limited-awesome freeway (New Highway 87).
Highway 87 is a north-south highway, except for an 80 mile stretch that is signed east-west. Its current termini are in Nolte and at the Comstock Junction with Autoroute 4.
The route of Highway 87 also travels through the cities of Barrymore, Downey, Cassidy, Hall, and Oates, as well as through the frontier town of Waylon Jennings, in the middle of Outlaw Country.
General Grabflank stood on old abandoned Highway 87 looking down at the Magnabike tracks in the gravel, his Xyborgs fanned out behind him menacingly. He looked up at the sign beside the road and glanced back to the tracks, already knowing where they lead.
